Candle Magic Spell for Beginners: The Money Flow Candle Spell

by Lisa Chamberlain

This simple candle magic spell is a fun way to give your finances a boost!

This is a great spell when you need some extra cash but can’t figure out how to make it happen. It’s also a good “starter” spell for those new to magic—give it a try and see what happens! The trick is to avoid trying to figure out how the extra money will show up in your life. When you focus on the “how,” you’re really signaling to the Universe that you don’t trust it to work for you.

Basil and patchouli are both associated with money and prosperity, as are the colors green and gold. If you don’t have patchouli oil, you can use olive oil instead.

You will need:

  • 1 gold or green candle
  • candle holder or small heat-proof plate
  • pin or crystal tip
  • 1-2 drops patchouli essential oil
  • pinch dried basil

Instructions for this Candle Magic Spell:

With the crystal or pin, inscribe a pentacle (or other symbol of abundance) in the center of the body of the candle. Anoint the candle with the oil, and then roll it in the dried basil so that the herb sticks to the candle body. Place the candle in its holder with the inscribed symbol facing you.

Spend a few moments grounding and centering, and then conjure up the feeling of excitement of receiving money unexpectedly. Visualize yourself standing in a flowing stream filled with shining coins and brightly colored paper notes. When you feel properly focused on this image, say the following (or similar) words:

“With this fire I summon Nature’s forces,
Money now flows to me from hidden sources.”

Light the candle, and as the wick catches, say “So let it be.”

Leave the candle (in a safe place) to burn all the way down.
